Not many of us set out to be managers, because whilst some have been carefully trained and been on a planned career path, others have been given the role of manager because of a promotion or indeed just as an additional duty.

Some people will be very experienced and have a large number of people working for them, whilst some people may be managing just one person or someone for the first time.
